on u bolts is there a reason for the tall nuts or can you use standard thickness nuts? thanks, chris

I think they use the tall ones so you can get to them with the deep socket w/out having to cut off too much of the bolt.
Mine has standard nuts on them. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

When i had my u-bolts made, they gave me tall nuts and washers for free /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

well i had some but like always, i loose my nuts!!! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif i was just wondering if it was a safety issue or not

if your goen to get new ones and just gonna get a ruglar nut get grade 8 nylocks (not sure if thats how you spell it but its a lock nut with nylon inside)
