I have a 88 K5 with a 350 4speed tranny. the front driveshaft was out of it and was in the floorboard when I bought the K5 last week. Well I am installing all new U-Joints and the front shaft is missing the bolts and straps for the u-Joint and the parts houses are telling me they don't carry the front strap kit for a 4 speed only the rear. Anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks

Agreed with 4x4high, find a new parts store. They are feeding you a bunch of crap. Any decent parts house will have these parts on the shelf.

I would agree with all you guys there are a bunch of incompetent people working in these places now. I am 39 and my son is 12 and I found a rust free K5 that needed some mechanical work, so I bought it for him so we could work on it together but here in South Kansas City the parts stores suck. They are more worried about what size subs you have and how they get their cars on 24'sor how big the muffler tip is on their car. I swear I saw a Monte SS the other day with wheels ever bit as big as my 33's on the K5. I will just drive out south and go to parts store there. It wasn't this way 10 years ago when I was in this hobby more then than I am now. My Rant is over.

i think they called it a u joint kit or ujoint hardware kit or something..they got mine for my rear axle the same day

I've seen them in the HELP section of the store before. In fact I found them there when some idiot tried to tell me those were factory parts!!!
