Just looked at my ride again and I wish I could post a pic (pay up sucker).It looks like someone tried to weld some kinda spot weld on the sides where the straps bolt on the caps of the ujoints.

The billet covers and oil tube are aftermarket.
Which one does yours look like.

He said he got the caps on and there was slack in the joint. He also said that with the straps tight the cap is not held in position. In that link there are 2 joints that have the same cross size but one has a smaller cap than the other by a small amount. 1480 is also the same size as a D60 axle joint.
