What I do is use an old socket and 4lb sledgehammer.
support the shaft, remove the clips, put a bigg socket on the bottom side of the ujoint(bigg enough to allow the cap to fit inside it)put the old socket that is just a bit smaller than the cap on the opposite side and bang, bang, bang the cap should drop into the bigg socket now just work the other side out. Or just pay some one to doit who has all the right tools! Good luck

I second that...That is how I do it.. Just beat on it... I have gotten pretty good at it only takes me a couple of mins..
