First let me start by saying what a great time we all even though we had a lot of busted up trucks. I hope to see all of you again next year. Next...shirts are in the mail in the morning for all those that ordered them.

I promised an update as to what was raised by Friday. Well.......it's Friday. We are still waiting to here from the people we mentioned before. So at this point, I am going to assume that they changed their mind about the donation. With that being said.......

Your generosity and support have helped us raise $1,017.00 for UCP of South Central Pa. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s trail ride, which is tentatively set for Saturday August 9th and Sunday August 10th 2003.

all money raised will be used in connection with the children's programs that they offer. Such as therapy treatments for families with no or little insurance, the preschool program that is offered to give the parents of these special needs children a time to themselves, medical equipment, etc., etc., etc.

I can't thank those of you that were involved enough. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif /forums/images/icons/cool.gif WITH OUT ALL OF YOU......THE AMOUNT RAISED WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE!!! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif /forums/images/icons/cool.gif YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!!!!!! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif /forums/images/icons/cool.gif I hope to see each of you (and many others) next year.

Thanks once again for throwing the event, you know I will be there next year, and this time my truck will make it home on it's own. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Hopefully we can get a few more guys to run the tougher trails with us too....like Wayne.

I've been real quiet about what my plans are but don't be suprized if I don't have my K5 next year. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Are you becoming a Toyota guy now, since most of your club is? Giving up on the GM family? Come on...give us a little snipit of what your plans are.

No Toy. I will have to wait and see how bad the rust is in mine. I'm not working on anything right now but I will decide when the time is right. Don't worry though, no matter what it will be a GM drivetrain. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I've seen him checking out Jeep's. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Thanks alot Donna. Well since she opened up her big mouth /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif here is what I am thinking about.

It might happen in the future but I'm really not sure. The Jeep in the pic is running full width D60, 14ff and a small block. I am thinking about building a dedacated {sp} wheeler and that might be my best option. Everybody always said I was nuts for cutting up my K5 because of how nice it is but they did not look under it to well. I will have pics up soon of how bad the floors are. So far though I have not found anything that scared me to fix but I need to pull the front carpet up. I found some old patch work in it already so I will see how bad it is.

Why not just make the K5 a dedicated trail truck? If it has that much rust like you say, then make it strictly for the trail? I know you can get your hands on a good K30 from Roger as a tow rig.

Here are the rust pics. I gutted the interior this weekend just to see how bad it is. It's not pretty but it is fixable. My son said I should fix it and put bigger tires on it. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif I have a tub off an M Blazer over at Rogers place that I will be using some of it to fix mine. I cut it behind the seats but I cut it in front of the body mount that I need to replace.

I also have the option of a pick up cab. I have quite a few options on what to do so I'm not going to get in a hurry to worrie about it. I like the idea of a wheeling only rig but I should keep it somewhat street legal. Right now the plan is to fix this. What ever I decide to do will hopefully make it's debute at the Carlisle truck show next year.

That's nothing! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
Should've seen my 75 before I replaced all the sheetmetal!
My 89' had it bad too, but fixed all that too. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
