Pulled out my headers this morning, going to get em blasted and paint em up. The pass. side took about 10minutes, the drivers side about 45min. They put so much stuff in the way to get to the front header bolt. The bracket that holds the A/C and the P/S pump is attached to the block that uses the same header bolt. So you have to take out 5 bolts and move the bracket just to get to the header bolt.

Is there any easier way around this? Could the end of the header be notched so that you still got 3/4 of the flange but its open towards the front, so you only have to loosen the bolt and not have to take it out all the way. somewhat like the gaskets go on, notched.

Also what is a good ceramic paint to use on the headers that will keep them looking good and wont burn off? Dont have funds to go with full coating, so Ive got to paint em up.

Yeah probably, but how often do the headers come out? I can see it if you need to remove them a lot, but just replacing gaskets they just need to be loosened.

I've had good luck with the VHT stuff, but a few on here haven't. i don't know if layering it on too thick is a problem, or not thick enough or what. I put two medium coats on a used set of headers, and aside from some slight discoloration at the collector they still looked great three years later.
