how the hell do i go about replacing it? i know where it's supposed to go, but i cant figure out how the hell a new one goes in.

How in the hell did you break that piece? That usually happens when someone tries to steal your rig and they break the column apart.

i had the same thing hapen to me a coupe months ago it was a pain to replace you have to pull the tilt pins out to get the new one in

you can pick up a replacement in the "Help" section of most any autoparts store... part should be like $5

ugh.... this is gonna be a catastrophe, i can see it now. kinda funny though, all the problems ive had with this truck have been within the steering column.

well, problem solved. the biggest obstacle was inventing the little puller for the pivot pins. i think i've created the worlds smallest home-made puller. worked perfectly though, it just took me an hour to find a screw that would thread into the damn pin. i heard the nightmares from my dad about the time he pulled his column apart on his old jimmy, and he had a ton of needle bearings and crap go flying out. i got lucky i guess. mine came right off, slit the new part back in (10 bucks at Autozone) and slapped it all back together. the best part? i get to return the neutral safety switch and ignition switch that i bought thinking they were the problem!

like my puller?
