Theseare great for taking off paint, undercoating and rust. And those old blazers have giant hoods and body panels!

The nice thing is they won't take down any metal like a flap disc. They are non-woven so if you hold it up to a sharp edge it will wear away quick.

But for heavy coatings like bedliner thework better than anything out there. The discs are non-loading unlike sandpaper. So it takes the paint off a lot faster.

Do you have a rough estimate on how many square feet one disc will do? I'm thinking these might be the way to go when I repaint my 25' gooseneck.

The square footage per disc can vary but a customer with a k5 bought 4 and stripped the entire hood with one disc. I assume it was just the topside. Ome thing is for sure, dont catch these discs on sharp or jagged edges of metal, they will get torn up rather quickly. With a goosneck you may want to get a wire wheel if there is heavy rust, if u dont nneedna
 
I had to continue my reply from the cell phone response.

The knotted wire wheels (cup or radial) last forever but they scar the metal a bit. They take a lot longer to strip paint too.

Anyone is welcome to PM, email or call about these discs. They are good quality and we haven't had a complaint yet. In fact a few local customers put them to the test against the competition and ours came out on top for longevity and cost per sq/ft.
 
These you can run on a lot of different grinders, air, elec, bench, ect.

They come in 4", 6" and 8" Diameters. 1/2" Hole and 1/2" Thick.

Yep, LOVE these discs for removing undercoating and what not. I do not recommend nipping your finger with them though. They do hurt like hell if you do. I have bit myself several times indeed with them. I need to order a bunch of these soon.

I appreciate the feed back. Yes they will "grab" those sharp edges in a hurry. I had to strip some paint off my axle and the wheel caught and wound up the cord, disc and was flopping around between my steering linkage.

Surprisingly there were only a couple chunks of material missing from the discs and I am still using it. And I got my fingers out of the way in time!:waytogo:

Correct, the sandpaper will "load" with paint and smooth out your paper so nothing is really happening. They call the paint strippers non-loading, non woven so the paint can escape or exhaust from the disc. The non-woven part means it will be nice to the metal and not heat or grind it away.
 
Got em today, quick service/shipping and the wheels kick ass! I'm gonna make some serious progress on the body now!

About 30min. Awesome!

More Progress Photos!

Here's a couple more pics from the welding table clean-up. Some of these rust spots took a lot of pressure to bring the surface back to life.


I was trading up with the flap disc in certain areas but it would work good and then load up. The paint stripper disc did load a little bit but stripped the most volume in the shortest time


Here a profile of the table edge caked with some paint. You could feel the chips hitting my feet along with some of the disc material!


This was after about 20 min of grinder time. Getting closer but that rust in the far right corner is tough.
