Hey all,

91’ stock lift, looking to put a 2.5 lift on.

Will this be a 2.5 in the front and a bigger in the back? I want it to sit level thus accounting for the weight of the cover.

Appreciate it!

Interesting…. Not heard of this option. Do you know if this will work on any lift brand?
Yes, you will need to get new U bolts when you do the springs. These bolt to the leaf spring. They can offset the spring center, or just add an inch. Very commonly used with no issues

Yes you will have to raise the rear end. As well as the front.

What lift kit are you looking at?
Understood. I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t need to install a 2.5 on the front and a 3 on the back. Thanks for the clarification.
No idea… Any suggestions?

you could do a 2.5 on front and 3 on the back. or even a 3.5 depending on how much you are sagging.

this is what they were talking about for the rear

You have to figure out the stance you want. Be sure to go through our "primer" https://ck5.com/forums/threads/how-will-my-k5-truck-look-with-xx-tires-on-xx-of-lift.170627/

Some people want the body lines/roof parallel to the ground and others want the space in the wheel openings to look the same. You can't have both with these trucks. Spend some time with a tape measure on a level slab to see where it really sits now and the distances at your springs as described in that thread.

Also, I think ORD can use these measurements and mix/match components to get the truck where you want it. Buying a "lift kit" has a lot of problems, so it's definitely not the first recommendation.

That’s what I needed! Thanks for the explanation!

When I did a 2.5" ORD flip plus an EZ inch (3.5") on the back it was plenty to stay level with 4" springs up front. I think it varies on the brand of springs. Mine were Tuff Country EZ rides with generic SD Springs OEM replacements out back. I ran this set pretty hard till I bent the rears, but in the meantime it stayed level.

EDIT: 77 K5

Just to state the obvious... If you install the same lift front/rear, you'll be higher, but no change in the stance. I've found a 2" block in the rear gets a nice rear-end just higher angle.

Take a measurement at the middle of the rear fender well, jack up the rear axle under the diff to the stance angle you want, take another measurement and you'll have your answer on how much lift you need.
