Who here has coverall service? What do you pay for rags and coveralls?

We have full uniform service with red shop rags and white rags for my detail department.

Our uniforms run about $11-12 per week per tech with 6 sets of shirts, pants and two jackets.

Red rags run $25/week for 300 rags. Detail towels are $33/week for 240.

What uniform company do you use? We use Cintas and I'm thinking we pay quite a bit more then that.

Service Uniform is the company we use. They started out in Denver and have branched out into southern Colorado. Been with them for 8 years at least right now. We actually just re-upped our contract yesterday and my rep dropped our prices a solid $2 per tech from what I quoted above.

Compared to who we had in the past (unifirst) these guys are far and away a better run organization. They track every shirt and pair of pants with sewn in RFID chips so they can be scanned in and out on delivery day. We never have missing items due to it. They just know how to take care of a customer unlike the last clowns that were constantly loosing stuff or bringing in clean laundry that smelled worse than the dirty stuff they were going to pick up. We were the first business in our town to switch to them. Since we did I've had the two other dealers ask how they were and based on our dealings with them, they signed up with them too. I've had calls come in from 4 other independent shops and a large local construction firm who switched to them too.

My rep just filled us in that G&K uniform was bought up or merged with Cintas and he said they've been on a rampage to steal accounts with the usual tactics, sweet deal now and a massive rate hike in a year or two. Not to mention the crappy service. My guys are competitive with them on price or better and kill them on customer service.

Unifirst is horrible, I have a pair of their pants on now. The only reason I have the pants to wear, is I NEVER turn them in. I wash them. They treat their drivers like crap in 3 years we've had 20+ different people pick and deliver. we always have to put the dirty rag buckets around the hamper or they will get ignored. At first they claimed we didn't have rag service, contract did state rag service, city attorney needed to explain the contract and consensuses before the rag service was begun, 6 month process :deal:. L&M is even worse, don't want to talk about it. Cintas was ok, Mission Linen was prob the best but that was maybe 25 years ago.

Cintas is very expensive but I know they do a good job with the cleaning, I was moving their product for a while.
I had never smelled bad laundry before I did that job the hampers stink so bad but once the clothes are clean they are on hangers and floating in the trailer.
If the trailer they use gets stinky it might affect the smell but I never smelled anything when I was moving the clean clothes.
As fat as service I know they are ok but not great, and listening to their ads you know they're trying too hard, like they are overselling it.
@ZooMad75 you definitely seem to have a good company, the rate is unheard of and it seems the service is good too.

My brother works at an autobody shop that uses Aramark for their uniforms, rags, and carpet runners. He hates them and said soon he is going to buy his own uniforms. Maybe almost half the guys in the shop are already doing this, I don't know what they pay. But he always says they give him incorrect amounts of uniform, he's gotten wrong sizes, and getting things fixed like buttons sewn etc, takes forever sometimes
