unimog axels

Im plannin on puttin a set of the new 49 irocs on my crew cab in the near future and am wondering if unimog 404 axels will be strong enough, i want to run a 60 front but i just dont think it will hold up to tires that big and wide. i think the inimog axels are 1 1/2 ton ratin. or should i look for a deuce and a half set of axels. thanks Vince

IMO, if you plan on really using the truck on the trails or in the mudd you will need to step up to unimog 406,416 or U1300s. The 404s won't be able to handle that big of tire if you really use the truck. Depends on how much gearing and HP you plan on running as well. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
