I was driving my 1990 Jimmy yesterday and it was driving great, but then I parked it for about 2 hours, and when I came back to start it, there was an overwhelming smell of skunk. I did not hit a skunk at all and it only smells like this on the inside. What could it be?

Cat?

No idea how to get rid of it. Tomato juice gets skunk stink off of people, I think. 55 gal drumof tomato juice?

A battery going bad will start putting off a sulfer smell (rotten eggs).

Other than that, I would say a neighbors kid with a stink bomb.:dunno:

And i just don't know where it's coming from. I opened the hood -nothing. I smelled the exhaust -nothing. I only smell it when I am in the truck itself.

has the top been off so it's accessible to animals? All it takes is for a cat to get sprayed and then climb around in your interior.

bad cat maybe? usually it's a rotten egg smell.. but I suppose it could come across as skunk in some cases.. :dunno:

I think it may have been bad gas? I drove it for a few hours and the next morning the smell was just gone.

I've had some really bad gas before, but after 5-10 min you couldn't smell it anymore. :D
