well, i just got my CV shaft today, after about 2 weeks of them having it and making it, and now when i drive my truck, the back rides smooth as hell, but in the front...anything over about 8MPH and the whole front end shakes like a biatch!!!! i don't think it's death wobble because it doesn't go away, or is it possible to have death wobble this severe??? it shakes so much the hood looks like it's about to jump off. my tires look to be straight(driveway alignment).... i have new kingpin bushing and springs that will be here tomm. and im gonna install a dual stabilizer too, but what else could this be???? i can stick my head out the window and see the tires(front) going crazy.

thanks guyys!!!

the way i always took it is death wobble is constant and when it stops it's not so much. only thing i know is to wait on the dual stabilizer kit and see how that goes. my blazer does it but it's just my tires

yeah, mine is so bad you can't drive it. my steering stabilizer was delivered by summit the other day, but to my parents house...i geuss ill go over there and get it once my girlfriend gets home(no other way to get around). thanks man, i hope i can clear this up tonight.

That is death wobble in all it's glory. Sux Huh? What kind and size tires you running? I'd use the new and old washer ontop of the bushing when you replace those front components. Check alignment too. Make sure you have a tad of tow in.

what pressure are you running in the tires? its probably too high. I tried driving on my 44's with 30 psi:doah: no shakes at any speed when they are set below 15 psi.

whats your kingpin angle? they should be leaned back. most specs I have seen posted are between 4-8 degrees.

when it happens, look at your tires, do they look like they are gonna fly off because they are moving so violently from left to right

mudstud, im running 39.5TSL's with 14oz of airsoft pellets in each.

GMC4CW, im running 23psi in each tire.

and last, but not least...CAJUN,
no...they don't look that bad, instead of the whole axle moving, it's more of the truck wanting to turn, left than right then left....really really fast. the tires are in at the front about 1/2 an inch or so compared to the back when we did the alignmetn(driveway job). i just put on one stabilizer shock in the stock location(kinda) and it drives a "tad" better, i got it up to about 50MPH or so and it's driveable, but still shaking like crazy, sometimes worse than other times.

i could only put on shock on since the ubolts that were sent with the kit(superlift) won't really fit around the axle tube.i think they sent me a kit for a 1/2ton(small tube diameter).

im gonna throw some washers on my kingpins tomm with the new springs/bushings/factory spring retainers and see what that does.

lower the pressure in your tires. to at least 15 psi. 23 psi in a 39.5 is a huge volume of air. its way more then you need. then go drive it. report back.

i just lowered them to 15psi and no change at all, except a softer ride over the speed bumps in my apartment complex. thanks man. im gonna try the new springs/bushings/spring retainers tomm and see what that does.

1/2 inch is way too much toe-in. my truck drove like crap when i did that. 1/8 to a 1/4. have you tried swapping tires front to back?

I had the same problem, I put fender washers on the kingpin, and did an alignment by eye, and it was gone, also im running a single stabilizer. I run 41" iroks with 30 psi in each.

does it getg worst when you hit the brakes???you might have a few problems contributing into one big one...did you put front shackles on your truck when you lifted it??

yes, i did put shackles on it...and no it doesn't stop when i hit the brakes at all. it doesn't seem to get worse either. the springs have degree shims on them to make up for the liftsprings/shackles in the front. im not exaclty sure what degree they are...but muddybuddy had them on his truck and he drove his with these springs/shims. heres what's new in the front end:

all brake componenets(rotors,calipers,pads,lines)
new wheel bearings/spindle bearings/races
new tie rod and TRE's
new drag link and TRE's
new pitman arm
2wd steering box with bolt on brace
XJ shaft

i also don't have a front shaft in, yet...so that has nothing to do with it.

my advice is to either go buy an angle finder or take a bunch of pics of your pinion angle, kinpins, and tie rod...i think your caster is off but there still might be a couple of things contributiing to it...

dumb question did you re torque your ubolts??also it hapls if you beat them with a hammer then torque them...get a lil more out...

holy crap man. looks like the tires are gonna come the f**k off!! i hope you get that fixed and please don't drive that anymore than you possibly have to. mines nowhere near that bad. course my tires aren't that big either

mine was that bad i had a combination of a locked up caliper and my caster was off....when i het the brakes it pulled bad which set the caster of into the death wobble...it was preety frustrating but a good learning experiance none the less..

that was enduced DW. if you know what your doing you can easily avoid 75%+ occurances of DW... atleast with my truck
