Up and down play in steering column

i tightened down the 4 bolts on my tilt column to take out the slop. It’s all good now except there is a small amount of up and down play in the tilt mechanism. It’s solid side to side. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the fix? I can pull the wheel down and the tilt spring rebounds the wheel back up.

There are some screws deep down inside the mechanism on tilt columns. Requires pulling the steeringwheel and tearing down into the column a ways. Not super difficult, just taking apart and putting back together. there's a few vids out there and think someone here did a writrup on it. Be sure to put some locktite on the screws when you put them back in.
