Well im tired of looking at a rusty bed and i have to service my tanks and paint the frame on the ford...I hadnt expected to build a flatbed yet but the bed is so rusted out when i take it off its prolly gonna fall apart so im building a wood flatbed...i dont have the money to build it wood and steel so its gonna be all wood...i dont really haul anything in it (be happy without a bed) exept trash and some tools...any ideas for me to think about in this process???i will be updating this thread with pics through the week...anyway a few pics for you guys...

Check out my gallery, I have pics of mine. It was easy to do. Defiently screw it.

Im sure mine is more aggressive than you want, but definetly would not be hard to work off of, especially because the ford frame is wider...

thanks man i can wait to see how this turns out..

well no pics today but i did get the bed off...it was a pita...the bed was so rusted i just took a hammer and punched holes around the 2 middle crassmembers...the front and rear bolts i had to grind the heads off of...its off now i have to clean the frame up and paint it,take the hitch off,buy a new class 5 hitch and get my gas guage to work before i start on the bed...everything has surface rust on it definitly the worst case ive ever seen but no rot...the shocks, axle, frame you name it RUST...i got alot of work in store for myself thats for sure...i will get some pics tomm..

alright guys i got some progress pics today...not a whole lot done but i did get the rest of the bed removed from the frame and cut some worthless exhaust hangers and other crap off the frame....i removed the bumper and hitch also...the progess has been slow cause everything is so badly rusted...i went over everything in pb for the past 3 days and still no sucess...basically grinding down the head of every boly on the frame that is coming off...for some odd reason the drivers side has more rust than the pass side...anyway here are the pics...

heres a quick sketch. Id start with the front an rear 2x4's/ 4x4's. These are on the flat sections of frame, and the frame is in line with istself in these spots... Once these two are on, string on top of them. Now from that line you can measure how much you have to notch out to get them to sit down level with the first two.

got a good bit done today and a short period of time...i only have 2 more bolts to grind out then im ready to build my bed...i got the frame 90% painted...i used rustoleum hammertone black....i really like the way it turned out...there was 2 reasons for this 1.rustoleum is readly available at any hardware store unlike rust bullet or por15...2.by using this paint i could also buy it in a spray can for the hard to reach spots with a brush...anyway on with the pics!!!
