Update.. !! Help !! U-joint strap\'s for 14bolt FF !!! Where can I get them?

I bought the wrong u-joint.. The Neapco didn't have the c-clip's to hold the cap's in.. So I went and bought the NAPA #447 U-joint.. all is great.. except .. I forgot the U-bolt strap's.. the place I went to told me it was dealer item first.. then he said he carry's them.. but sold me the wrong one's.. aggghh..
So.. my question.. should Napa have the correct Strap's for part number 447 Ujoint? Thanks..

Does the part store's carry u-joint strap's for the 14 bolt FF?
Or is that a dealer item only?
Any idea's are greatly appreciated...
It's the last hold-up to finishing my rear end swap..

I have all the part's except the 3 other wheel's.. I pick those up tomorrow..
The anchor plates arrived today.. u-bolt's yesterday..
I'm ready to go.. Bought some 9/16th lug nut's for the new wheel's.. had the rear wheel's mounted and balanced..
Just need the strap's.. next come's the front end..
I'll need your help on that one Thomas..
Give me a call tomorrow.. if you get this tonight.

If Auto Zone doesn't have them you may want to try Drivetrain Specialties there in Austin, if that's the name of the place. They would have them.

D60 is on and ready to rock. As for the 14ff, well my bud (a gear installer at 4Wheel Parts) owed me a favor and he's rebuilding it for me before I install it. He's replacing bearings and installing a Detroit Locker for me.

Anyway, how did you receive your U-bolts so fast for ORD. I'm still waiting for mine. They told me that they shipped out on Tuesday.

Don't know how I got them so fast..
Talked to Steve Watson directly... he shipped them out that day.. got them the following day..
Good luck.. can't wait to see your rig when it's done..

Hey Rocko, not sure if you have a current 12 bolt, but the u joint straps for the 14 bolt are the SAME as the 12 bolts. Not sure about 10 bolts but my GM Parts guy said all straps are the same!

Its what holds the rear u joint/driveshaft to the input yoke of the rearend..............

Sorta.........but not really. At least on my truck, the front of the driveshaft (where it mates to the transfer case) has the u-bolt type hookup, and the rear has just the straps with bolts that go through them into the yoke.

Thanks for the input.. But I don't have any 12 bolt's laying around anymore..
But.. I did find them at Austin Drivetrain here.. They are spicer strap's.. so I'm good to go now.. wooo hooo..

that sounds great charles, i will have to see if i can make a trip up to your place to check everything out. I am saving up money so i can buy a 14 and d44 or possibly a 60. hey i can dream right. well hope everything goes great and i might see if i can drive up there and check everything out.

I got my U-Bolt straps at Autozone right down the street from my house. If they don't carry them, then the guy must have sold me the wrong thing.

edit:Actually, now that I think about it, shouldn't the straps be the same between those two U-Joints?
