58 inches wide and removable for quick rollover tricks/forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif
New Pics coming soon!
I will paint it nice and have a custom piece of auto glass will be cheaper because there actually is a model it used to fit! This has two windshield wipers hanging from the top with each one having a different switch. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif As far as visibility, it's actually pretty comparable to what I had... before I rolled. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Re: Samurai windshield frames on my blazer

When you narrow it I think it will look better. It is kinda "dinky" with the full width set up. Have you thought about a wrangler windshield? I think they are a bit wider than a sami /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

[sheepishly]
probably sir...

[regular juan voice... please don't squeak]
actually, i don't think I will ever have it folded down. It will likely [for sure] be taken off for crawling.

Re: Samurai windshield frames on my blazer

Why not use a windshield something like this? You would have to admit that it is light weight not to mention how cool you would look.

Re: Samurai windshield frames on my blazer

To be steet legal in AZ you need a windshield and wipers (just for the bugs I guess, since we don't get rain anymore). I don't see wipers on those... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Samurai windshield frames on my blazer

The wipers wouldn't be too hard. It's aiming the squirters that might be a pain. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

FWIW, Dee Engring (VW/Sandrail vendor) offers a rubber extrusion that will let you put a winshield in a round tube frame. P/n 6049 = 12 ft.

Now THAT is good info... /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Samurai windshield frames on my blazer

Yep, that's it. Look at the part number, it matches. Guess my link was not good. Couldn't find it on their site but thought maybe it was in a catalog. Nice job of sleuthing. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I just fit a Lexan (polycarbonate) windshield on my K5 after I flopped it over on its side into a tree and glass no longer fits. Had to weld in a frame to bolt to and bend the Lexan on the curves. Talk about a bitch, that was a hell of a project, I did not expect it to be such a pain. I will post a pic of the finished product soon. Only problem is I don't think CHP will appreciate the craftsmenship as much as I do. Even though that stuff is damn near bullet proof.
