Hello,
Well the 350 is in the shop. When I was driving by the shop I heard a bang it sounded like a back fire and the truck started to tick. It starts up it idles fine but there is a ticking sound coming from what I believe is the 5th cylinder. When the engine is under load if you put any kind of force on the gas the truck will back fire and tick pretty bad.
What do you guys think it is? There are around 15,000 miles on the engine.

Hello,
I got the truck back from the shop today. TWO bolts on my intake where way to long and hitting the pushrods. That ended up bending those two rods and you guys know what happens after that. It only cost me $20.00 for him to do the work and play with the other valves. No more ticking, the engine runs like a beast.
Thanks
Adam

sounds like a prob in the exhaust valve to me... failed retainer, sucked in valve, etc...

sprung spring??

Might have broken a valve spring ?? definately sounds valve related, especially if its ticking and backfiring..or a bad plug wire arcing to ground???...

Hello,
I am hoping that it is the valve spring. What would case no oil coming up through the pushrod? I did noticed that on one of my pushrods on my number 5 cylinder.
Thanks
Adam
