SWWWEEEET!!! I'm jealous!! What brand of soft-top is that? Wish I had that kinda rough winter weather! You know why that is? Cuz' YOUR damn weather ends up over here in Ohio!!!!! QUIT EXhaling!!!!!

"I'm not stuck...I'm just exploring the depth and texture of this mudhole for a while"

That is a Kayline (the old style not the fast track). I still have the top rolled up, nice and sunny today!!

I got most of the soft top off of Mike (Emmettology 101), I told him I'd post pics when I had it on the truck and well 3 months later here they are!

Looking good Rene. Does the Kayline top require any holes drilled?

BTW folks..........Pacific NW winters are wayyyyyy better than east of the Rockies. 45 and rain is typical............beats 13 degrees I had this morning (AM IN PA ON BUSINESS.............BRRRRRR).

Thanks guys!
Nice deal on the top Mike, but you can't have it back
laugh.gif
Once you try the soft top you'll wonder why you kept the hard top for so long!

James, those tires are off an Early Bronco. I don't know exactly how old they are but the guy had done the rubicon twice, Moab once and the ARCA rockcrawling thing with those. There is about 40 to 50% left on them, I got 5 for $300, and had to go through a fair bit of crap getting them into Canada.
Yes you have to drill some small holes in the body with this style of top, I just gave each screw a dab of silicone though. I'm pretty sure this style of top is still available, I just got this one in September.

Rene,
The old rust bucket looks good. So you're running 36's aye, how much lift do you have, and what does it consist of?
wink.gif

It's not what you buy, it's what you build!

Hey Sam, the pig is sitting on a Rancho 4" lift. Thats it. Trimmed fenders of course although I'm gonna hafta trim a bit more now
cool.gif
.
I also relocated the rear shock mounts so they don't limit travel anymore. I get about 34" under the tire now. Softer front springs are in the works 'a la Donovan's recipe.

Hey Norm,
Of course it is always sunny in Surrey!
laugh.gif
I was just telling Mike that I've probably jinxed myself with the weather and we'll probably get a dump of snow now!
cool.gif

I am finally going to get off my lazy a$$ and go pick up the driveline today

Its been sitting in Point Roberts for over a week now. I'll send you an e-mail later.
Thanks Shannon!

Grr, Im jealous! I'm stuck here in beatiful Iowa where's its 19 degrees for a high, wind chills below 0 and blowing snow. I can't wait till I can get started on mine. Of course the $680 for the new tailgate shell and bed will help too. Keep the pics comming!

Are you going to cut your current tub in half and graft that new rear part on? I gotta see that! Take plenty of pictures when you do it.

Yes you can still get those tops. I got one from 'moose' just before Christmas.

Not FROM the people

Yep, surgery starts soon, and I'll be taking plenty of pics. The donor is cut right behind the front seat area and includes rear door jambs. I should be able to cut tRusty right where the roof meets the box and along the floor and graft it on. I've already got the new poly body bushings and ORD 1" body lift waiting so I'll do it all at once. We have a 15 ton overhead crane at work that I can use with a little notice. The donor has some small dents that I might just leave, I'm not big on finish body work, and I'll probably dent it up off road anyways.

Lookin' good tRusty!!!!! Those meats look great. I'm still running on 31" dinky dounuts with a 5" lift:-( I guess I should give up trying to find that killer deal in the buy n sell. What problems did you have at the border?
We should really get together for a trail ride and swap some bloody knuckle stories:-)

Lookin' great from sunny Ditchmond.
