Updating rear view mirror questions.

I am considering updating the rear view mirror on my '88 with a more recent GM mirror from ebay that is equipped with the temp / compass feature. Any known write ups or links to suggest on what is needed and how to do this swap? Thanks!

Here is a quick search that I did. I found one that did it, but I know at one point there was a write up on how to wire it and what each wire did.
