Upgrade my worn shaft.

It eliminates the rag joint. That's the big item that can lead to a sloppy feel from the column to the box.
The jeep xj shaft is the junk yard savvy way to do it.

So the linked items are decent and a good "upgrade"? Mine is a bit sloppy.
 
According to @1-ton, i got the xj and haven't put it in yet, I might get the express one and sell the xj
 
I was on the other side of that. I did the XJ shaft because my rag joint got saturated with PS fluid, and noticed no difference at all :dunno: .

Do an xj shaft. Much better price point and the same concept. We wanted to do a video of both borgeson and the xj so we had to pony up for the borgeson. I think replacing both the rag joint and the worn out steering column bearing at the same time made a huge difference in the feeling of the steering
 
The factory shaft belongs in the trash can. I went with the Borgeson double u-joint shaft and never looked back.
But the little dust boot ripped right away.
Also I did a price match guarantee at Summit racing, I found it on Amazon for $180 and they did the price match with free shipping.
 
I installed a junkyard XJ shaft on my Jimmy a couple weeks ago. It makes the steering wheel feel more connected and responsive to steering inputs than before. There is less slop or play compared to before.

That said, it's still a 38 year old truck and handles and steers like it. But it's a worthy and simple upgrade.
