Gonna replace front breaks soon .. should I go with the OEM stock or should I upgrade to High performance? What say ya'll..! Pros and cons...

High performance as in what? Slotted/vented rotors? Pad upgrade? Big brake kit?

Depends on your intended use. Do you tow? What upgrades done to the truck/ whats it weight? Type of driving? Is it a K5 or k30 or in between? Etc.

If it's not hydroboost, just put that on. Oem hydroboost brake systems are generally more than sufficient with the right axles for the job.
That's the first actual upgrade imo.

Not sure which direction of high performance to go with, was gonna start researching it. I do not tow, and it doesn't have any upgrades if your asking about the engine.. stock 350.. it is K5 79 4x4 and all I do is local driving here and there with a occasional trip but nothing further then a 2 hour drive...

I never seen any more performance with slotted or vented rotors of the same diameter and ciper setup. At least not enough to justify the cost.

Larger rotors and calipers makes a big difference though. Is it enough to justify the cost? Maybe if you were towing every weekend. For a driver and occasional hauler, eh.

Sorry - upgrades as in bigger tires, heavy bumpers, roll cage, etc that would add significant weight and require more stopping power. Sounds like the answer is no to the above.

I do have 33 BFG'S on her but that's about it

I would get the middle range grade of pads, new replacement rotors from a reputable company and put it back together. Unless you are looking toward going bigger tires and rock crawling, I would be good with the proper replacement parts. Cheap pads aren't the way to go. Squeal, make lots of dust, don't give good performance.

Now if you want to upgrade, then plan on some work and money. I agree that a better booster and better calipers would be where I would start.

I'm running a new booster, HD pads all the way around and 35's and I stop pretty damn quick. Even at GVW. I can't lock them up, but I can make that front nose dive....

33's don't need bigger brakes. As said above a good quality pad and rotors if needed, or have current rotors machined if enough material to do so.

I put Powerstop rotors and pads on my 06 and have never had better brakes on any truck I’ve owned. I did upgrade to the towing/hauling set.

Nothing wrong with power stop I have in wife's car, and I have 2 axle set for my brother's car.
So far I have no complaints. Just pads and rotors. Haven't needed to replace any calipers yet.
You know no salt on our roads
