I upgraded to a 100amp alternator

Now The wheelin I do is mild to moderate, It eithier in the woods or screwing around in my buddies feild.

Now heres where i want everyones opion

Here is the list I think that should be done before i go wheelin ( feel free to add)

Some sort of rock slider
sway bar disconects
ORD steering box brace
Transmission cooler
maybe some CB radio gear
Maybe some front lights

And thats about all I have anyone Wanna add to this or recomend prodocts ect.

Thanks

discos
front lunchbox locker?
and steering brace should be done anyways.
then maybe some better offroad tires.

more aggressive tires
steering brace
rock sliders would be nice (check out the vendor section for some good deals)
also I see you have a receiver hitch, i recommend one of those receiver shackle mounts
a Hi-Lift jack is always a good thing to have along with some tow straps

for rocksliders I was thinkin the bolt on ones from blazen off road, Cause there pretty cheap and I am not really a fan of the steps.

How well would a hi-lift work with the stock bumpers

also check out DPI they are selling bolt-on sliders for $98 right now.

Actually the hi-lift wont work real good with the stock bumpers. I was thinking more of using it as a winch. Before I had my k-5 I used a hi-lift alot on my buddy's xj, we always wheeled with only one vehicle.

yea I usually bring one of those with me as well. But after using the hi-lift I prefer that over the comealong. Longer handle gives ya more leverage, less you have to work. My buddy got his xj stuck so bad once, we had to hi-lift winch it about 2 vehicle lengths!!

Ive never heard of using a highlift as a winch how do you do that?
Basically you hook one strap from a tree (or solid object) and the other end to the top of the jack (it has to have the ring or hook attachment) and the other strap attaches from the vehicle to the actual jack part. There should be an opening in the lifting mechanism where you can attach a hook or d-ring.

I would lose the swaybar all together. Quick Disco's are expensive and that thing ways a ton. I love having mine off the truck

man thing is beautiful definately get some protection lol. I would look at some rocksliders for sure. I agree with losing the sway bar, I used my discos one time and that was it. I DD mine with no sway bar with no complaints, you can always put it back on if you dont like it.

this thing will and always will see more street driving than wheelin, cause there aint to much stuff locally, unless you wanna do some mall crawlin':doah:.
I figure I could probaly ditch the rear, but i should probaly keep the front

Rear swaybar? That aftermarket or did GM put those on some K5's? Never seen one.

Loose the swaybars entirely. Just disconnect one side and drive around for a while next spring. Bet you won't notice a difference...and if you do it'll be that it rides better without the bars.

Looks like everyone covered it.
The bolt on steering brace
Rock rails
Some MT's on 15x8's (you know the brand I like:waytogo:)
Go rust proof everything you can before the spring slop gets thrown on it. Nothing like cleaning mud and grime off of an area that was previously clean.

Yup its aftermarket, the origanal owner used the truck to tow his travel trailer to colorado.

Ive been Drivin the truck in the snow a little bit where there is no much salt, Man is it fun screwin around, almost got stuck in a snow bank. lol Also went trough a friends feild that had about a foot and a half of snow.

I just got back from the car wash to get the salt off ( I can drive there through roads that never get plowed)

Huh, interesting.

Looks like good fodder for someone on here or eBay. Ditch it.

I was talking to my uncle (2nd owner of the truck, I am the 3rd) He says keep it around just in case you change your mine he says those things go for like $300
