Rebuild it yourself. The kits are only like $40. It's not rocket surgery, and you'll know it's done correctly.

I have the AGR one and I like it. Real tight and precise

That's good advice, as long as you can evaluate "good" hard parts vs. bad ones. You can't throw new bearing/seals at a worn out box and expect it to be good, if the hard parts are bad the end result will be bad regardless.

Thanks for the replys guys!
My co-worker and I have both "rebuilt" boxes before, with mixed results and our conclusion was the box was bad (I would never blame my handywork :-) ) since we had no accurate way to measure or compare one to, just look at the areas were the balls rode to make sure there was no galling or pitting.
Thanks again, Jeff

Dont mean to hijack, but are there any threads showing how to rebuild the box. I searched a bit, but I always get distracted looking at cooler stuff :doah:

I was thinking an aftermarket one that is tapped already, but a cheap rebuild is all I can do for now. Im trying to do as much as I can myself to learn.

There's a couple really good ones on Pirate. I know I didn't have to look very hard to find them in the past.

What he said, i've been rebuilding these things for years now. After seeing what you get from a parts store rebuild I would NEVER buy another "rebuilt" box ever.

I really like my rebuilt box from PCS. They are local for me so it was a quick turn around for me. They revalved and tapped it for hydro assit for $250.00

X 2 on PSC box. Went with ported 2 wd box for crossover. Don't we all like real tight boxes.:waytogo:

Thanks for the info.
Ill definitely look into the PSC* boxes down the road. Im also running crossover, my box is actually pretty tight just has a small leak from the sector shaft (i think) which is pretty annoying. Gives me a reason to try and fix it...
