Ok I hate to always just post questions. My upper radiator hose is hitting my fan. I have pulled it back with a tie wrap. I just tied it back to the alternator bracket but after a while it slides back down and hits the fan. It doesn't go all the way through. Well this last one didn't! It just started rubbing again. What can I do to stop this? I have seen a hard type tube on an older K5s. Mine is a 72 with a 350. Thanks for the help!

Can you post a pic of the engine compartment? Do you have a fan shroud? Maybe get a different hose that has some kind of bends in it and turn the bends away from your fan.

I would loosen the hose clamp at the thermostat housing and then rotate the hose clockwise to help get the hose further away from the fan shroud/fan.

A ;72 came factory with a metal pipe and two short sections of hose at the radiator and water outlet ends--the pipe was curved to miss thefan--I think I have one of those somewhere in my parts heaps!..

On my '72 K5.I just looked up different hoses for other chevys when I worked at a parts store and tried some we had in stock till I found a suitable one that misses the fan and didn't look goofy--I tried ones for 73-87 trucks, they stood too tall--...I found one from a 70-72 Monte Carlo & Chevelle worked good and fit the radiator outlets...till I changed the radiator ,then I had to cut a "bushing" out of a smaller hose and slip it over the upper outlet on the radiator--the replacement one had a smaller outlet..

Hey guys I just turned the hose a little and I gained some clearance. Thanks for tip! I have another question. I just hooked up my all me vacuum hoses for the AC. I just put a tee on my carb to pull the vacuum. Yall think it's ok to use the one port for the AC and transmission vacuum? I really dont feel like unscrewing the L from the intake behind the carb where the brake booster gets it vacuum and installing a T. What do y'all think?

Not all ports are created equally on the carb. Some only work under load and some work under idle and will pull vacuum all the time.

Good deal on the rad. hose. If are feeling froggy, you can do metal piping or build/buy/scrounge a belt shroud. Ill have to post a pic, but certain model Volvo turbos had a shroud over their alt belt. I yanked it for 2bux at the U Pull it and it fit my truck pretty good. Its more cosmetic than anything but it did give me a nice place to "zip tie" my fuel line. If your interested I can snap a pic or two.
