Can most shocks be run upside down or are they designed to be run body down? I don't want to get my rear mounts on the axle relocated. Right now the body gets crushed against the axle tube.

most shocks are not able to be mounted both ways. Your standard Rancho or Skyjacker shocks must be body down or they won't function properly.

"As a rule you should not run a dual-tube shock like this RS9000 upside down. Monotube gas shocks such as a Bilstein can be mounted with the shock can up or down, but most dual-tube shocks will develop an inch or more of “dead space” where an air pocket forms if you mount them improperly. I think I've heard you CAN but they operate better in the normal way. I am completely blanking on reasoning so unless someone says otherwise I must be wrong /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
