Has anyone themselves or know someone that has purchased a full cab from us body source? I'm really looking into a fiberglass body and i'd like to hear the cons. I already know the positive, i.e., no rust, weight reduction, dent resistance. How easy or difficult is the install?

Read up on it on their website. The installation is very involved. The parts are just molded. You have to cut out the holes for every hinge, light, latch, mount, etc. That's assuming you can stomach the $10k to do the whole body. Oh, and there is no fiberglass tailgate available.

yea but i bet its so light and to not have to ever worry about rust is a huge bonus

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that I wouldn't like one - It's actually one of my biggest dreams. I'm just saying that it's a ton of work and a ton of money.

I put a US body on my CJ5. It's definitely lighter and has many benefits but as fore mentioned it is a ton of work. There are no holes...none..not for the dash bezel, column, body mounts, none means none, and there is going to be some fab work like strengthening the seat brackets and so on. Definitely some benefits but you are in for a project and will cost some $$.

oh yea i know exactly what your sayin, dont get me wrong lol i just wonder if the benefits out weight the cons. the cost is so high though

I've never heard of a fiberglass body's quality living up to the manufacturers claims, though I have read that the Gozzard fiberglass parts for FJ40's are very good.

The time spent making one fit properly is enormous, and the magnitude of the job won't hit you until the body is sitting in front of you.

I would look for a steel body without rust issues.
