So I've read a few horror stories about lmc door panels not fitting right and being cheap china pieces of junk, but i was jist checkong out usa1 and for 650 bucks they have both complete door panels trim and all. Anyone bought these? Are they of good quality?

I bought the painted panels in Buckskin without the trim as I am using my old trim and they look great. honestly can't tell the difference from the old ones. I have ordered several things from them and Randy was always very helpful and patient will all questions. I have a '77 for context.

Usa-1 is decent. If you have any problems, they'll take care of it, but they work on a relaxed schedule. they told me my interior would ship within 30 days, they didn't start building it till 45 days, total was almost 3 months and then everything arrived damaged , they eventually corrected it. If you order your panels right now, expect to have them done around Thanksgiving.

I know this is an older thread but...

On June 27th, 2022 I ordered door panels, sun visors and door pockets from USA1 for my 1974 Jimmy. I've emailed them every few months asking for an update and they just say no ETA. Today they said they are no longer providing any ETA as the lead times have been unreliable due to material and supply chain issues. They offered to cancel the order if I wanted but I told them I would continue to hold on for a little longer.

Passing along just in case anyone is thinking of ordering door panels.

@obijuank5 I see the new panel is manual window and your original was power how did the modification turn out ? That manual crank opening looks larger than the window switch bezel

Manual manual panel is what I originally had. I just put the nicer panels on in the mean time. I did not modify the usa1 panel.

I will say the usa1 armrests are awful for a daily driver. I need to find some stock ones or something more comfortable

If they are not actually made here, the delay would make sense. Maybe “assembled” here?

I would imagine (and believe) they come from overseas. They offer two options for door panels: 1) blank door panels that they paint and then you assemble yourself and 2) a fully assembled door panel that has all the accoutrements. I ordered the blank back last year.

I would be considered that the paint on the painted versions would scratch. The originals were not painted.

I guess I’d update the current condition of the panels. I guess they are five years old with 3 of those being daily driven. Never parked under cover.
The paint is very not bad and doesn’t scratch really that easily. The vent window has scratched the paint off though. That’s open a lot to be honest.
The carpet insert could be sized a bit better.
The aluminum stick on trim has shitty sticky. I had to hit the long end with some np1 but unfortunately it is now wavy.
The arm rest is uncomfortable. I need to try a gm one on there.

As a gm tech when these trucks were still being made, even under warranty, the interior panels from GM needed paint to match, and trim would need to be removed and installed on new door panel. Only current year warranty replacement had a chance of getting correct color panel, even that was not guaranteed. These days since they only have 2 or 3 color choices you can get colored replacements.

I have a spare GM OEM panels sitting in the Barn.

Use a good adhesion promoter+ the paint stays put.

they jerked me around a while back for about a yr +.. eventually they refunded me.. it was apparently when they where swapping over producers or some bs.. they do NOT have a good reputation for being punctual....

I don’t fault them for the long delay. They have offered to refund my money every time I contact them but I’m still holding on. June will be one year.

I have a set from my 1990 Blazer stripped down.

1set from a Suburban or Blazer. Driver's door is cracked + missing a section. Looks like a sane
repair with SEM products &:some sanding+ refinishing.

Is there anyone who offers a color correct door panel for a 1974 GMC Jimmy? Or, is there anyone who offers a door panel at all right now?
