Don't forget that they have High angle driveline CV shafts in that... saw a picture of it on their website. I love how they get all of those freebies... why can't I get some freebies!!!

yeah its kind of stupid cause half the stuff gets donated, and being USA 6x6 they probably donated the shocks and tires and wheels themselves ya know? Looks like a Bronco turned into a simple crawler? 8 lug axles too who knows what those are, probably front and rear dana 60s "donated".

The sand rail one was a joke. I'm thinkin you're putting half the tire under twice the weight and no clearance and you don't think it's going to dig in?

That thing is freebie hell. I sorta kept up w/ it at PBB. I think 1 of the guys from there is on the build team and they have all sorts of pics.
The axles I think are Dynatrac 60s. The freebie list is a whos who in the crawling game it seems. Ill see if I can find the post and link it.

That show has turned into such bullsh!t. What a joke. I really liked the one episode (I think it was the Geo hot air ballon) where one of the guys on the crew just so happend to work at west coast choppers. Of corse he got the free tools and tool box. Now where do you think those tools are being used?

Ok, now that I saw your pics I am pissed. I am not a Ford guy, but I really like those old bronco's. I am pissed that they took an uncut bronco and chopped the [censored] out of it. Don't tell me they couldn't find one that was worked over a little bit to mess up. They didn't have to ruin an uncut. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

I am in total agreement. The show has gotten WAY away from where it started. Even Jesse has snickered at it on one show.
But on the flip side, when ballonists were watching they were think "oh geez look at these hacks, theyre gonna die!" Or the sand rail guys looking at an RX7 w/ 1 paddle tire /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif thinking it could hang. Its aimed at the general yahoo that doesnt know anything about what we do. We see a hack job of sorts, or ridicule the 15K in free stuff. Just be glad the "sport" is getting some main stream exposure I guess.

Im not a bit Ford fan either (unless your talkin about a new SD /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif) but I hate to see cherry metal hacked up. There was a guy at PBB that chopped up a sweet 1st gen to only use the cowl section. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif I almost shed a tear for that rig while observing a moment of silence. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Why use an uncut, rust-free one? Because its alot easier to work with. Its the same reason I bought new fenders and cut them before I put them on. The same reason guys like Boyd Coddington build hot-rods out of low mi originals. If you can afford it its the only way to go. Jesse James owns West Coast Choppers, so every episode they turn a block of aluminum into a bushing, adaptor etc using the shop CNC machine and the other assortment of badass tools...I think it's a dumbass show, it would be better if they actually stuck with the 3k limit then it would be interesting...
