I have a 1991 GMC Jimmy with stock 350 EFI motor. It has about 170K and I have put FI cleaner in the tank maybe one or twice in the last 5-6 years. Not sure if the previous owner (s) used cleaners, but just curious to know if using now will have any effect, considering how old and mileage.

Thanks

it's just good maintenance... I run a can of Sea Foam thru my tank 2 or 3 times a yr...

BG 44K is good stuff. Very high detergent.

If you ever find stuff called PRO TEC its very good but hard to find

I run lucas injection cleaner in mine every fillup, it seems to improve fuel economy quite well for me and I can tell a difference with the way it runs, especially in the cold

I run some in a tank of fuel once or twice a year for about 10 years no on the Suburban. She still runs good!

Won't hurt.

But then at that mileage, without doing this over the years as maintenance, I'm not sure it would help... totally. Having injectors serviced in a machine is optimum. I've seen differences from 4% to 15% in injector flow.

Biggest issue for the need of cleaning is Drippy injectors. Can see it with flashlight or better a timing light looking at injector spray pattern, should be a nice symetric cone, free from drips.

If you don't have a shop nearby and need to mail them check out the one I use in town here Mr Injector. Bills site is set for mailing, injectors come back with needed gaskets and O rings... and candy!

we use Injector Clinic out of Florida for our marine stuff.. we usually send a set or so a month out for testing/cleaning... just got a set back this morn that had one dripping... super, super fast turn-around time...
