Alright guys.

Got my 3/4 tons. I wanna make them look nice and shiny.

What the heck do I sand and paint them with? Share your tips here.

Angle grinder with a wire wheel, degreaser, primer paint

when i was cleaning up my samurai axles, i put the wire cup on the grinder and went at them. then wiped the dust off with a cloth, and painted them with gloss black Tremclad and a brush. they look great.

New technique at the shop from now on will be to place entire axle in blast cabinet and get to it!

Paint it and install!

I gave mine the hotrod look with an aluminum center chunk, I gloss blacked the tubes, and used the chrome spray paint on the center chunk, and on my wraptor/backbone kit. Looks real cool IMO

step 1: one can of easy off oven cleaner, yellow can, per axle then pressure wash clean.

2: scotch brite pad in ajax water and scuff the whole axle everywhere you want painted then rinse clean.

3: primer with self etching stuff that sticks good to bare metal. and then paint your heart out.

these were your typical stock 20 year old axles before all that.
