used the search but need more info on cummins

i have a few questions for a cummins swap. first and formost do i actualy need an overdrive if im running a sm465 205 d60 14b (4.11 gears) and 35-37" tires. whats the rpms at differnt mph. second is the cummins much heavier than the 6.2? it has a 350 in it now but i imagine the 6.2 has to be heavy
3rd i have been told the 73-87 chevys need either a firewall notch or a 2" body lift to fit a cummins, is this true?
4th with a cummins would there realy be a need for a doubler?

My owners manual on my '02 lists the engine weight as just under 1100 lbs.. YES a half-ton. Better plan on installing some good springs and motor mounts... And dito on the the above listed sites.. TDR is the best for info.
