Useing a mid 90's a/c compressor on 81 burb

The connection was pretty similar over the years, although you'll have to check whether they use O-rings or washer gaskets. Can't say for sure, as there were major A/C system changes in 85.

I am not major professional on this, but wasn't the compressor in 1981 an A6, and the mid-90's an A4? I believe these two compressors had different design manifold heads on the compressor side of the hoses. And as also mentioned, there is the R12 to R4 conversion situation as well.

I'll be useing all new parts,(hoses, evap, condense, compressor) just need to know what hoses to get. And if they will work on 80's parts. But looks like I won't be doing this for awhile now do to unforeseen home repairs from refinanceing home.
