I have a chance to get a NOS K10 short box side panel, tail light to front of the box, still has GM stickers on it for $50.
Can I cut it length wise to fit my K5?
I will need to move the wheel opening as in this photo, so placement of the wheel opening on the panel isn't a concern.

I think Rene used a box side to patch up his K5. *THINK*

Grab it Dave, at $50 it's a no brainer and you're gonna be hacking and modifying it a bit to suit your needs anyways. With the wheel opening being enlarged you should be just fine. After doing the wheel opening all you'll have to do is trim the front length, leaving a little extra so you can tab it over and spot weld it.

thats what I was hoping Rene'...I'm all over it...although it won't be going on the Maiden just yet?

The rear overhang is a little longer than a Blazer box side Dave, but you can correct for that when you open the wheel opening. The front is easy...

You may run into fuel door location issues, probably having to graft one in the K5 location and fill one where the pick-up door was. Again, not terribly hard.

I moved my fuel fill to a sealed unit in the bed, so the fuel door isn't a worry anymore:

Yeah go get it... much nicer to cut up gm panels than the off shore crap.

The stuff you can buy is so thin,it is hard to work with.

Btw good deal on the price,I could have used that on my junk.

sorry for bein a picwhore but i saw k10 body on k5 frame and felt i had to post my truck, not contribute to the post, only a pic:dunno:

what is the p/u wheelbase stock like 119?

blazer frame + pickup cab = trazer

and short bed is longer than blazer.

that gm bed side is worth a lot more to the right person than chop/cut to fix a wheelin rig if you ask me.
