1/2 ton status
So after using the SEARCH feature and GOOGLE ( did the search nazi's get that ) I've decided i want to try to use the front hanger from the rear springs along with a rear 3/4 ton spring for my rear shackle flip onmy 78 K5...
I want to make sure i get the correct stuff...
From my understanding I need -
1 - Front spring hanger from the rear of a 1/2 or 3/4 ton 2 or 4 wheel drive truck
2 - 3/4 ton rear springs from 2 or 4 wheel drive truck
At this point i wont know exactly where to put the new hanger for the best shackle angle... so... (I'll jack the truck up by the frame, so no weight is on the rear axle) I figured i would attatch the 56' spring pack to the front hanger, bolt the axle and zero rate to the new spring pack, attach the shackle and the new rear hanger so it is NOT attatched to the frame just yet... This way i can get the best place for the best shackle angle...
Does this sound correct, or make sence?
With this new hanger, and stock shackle i've found most agree it gives 4 inches... If i need 6, i can use a longer shackle, correct?
Am i missing anything, besides alot of work removing the old rear shackles...?
