i have a set of diy's 6'' front shackles, i got them b/c the original shackles were hitting the frame, i got to looking today and i was wondering, what do you guys do when you put a longer front shackle on to keep from pointing the pinion at the ground? i thought about a 2'' piece of 3 1/2-4'' square tubing under my front mount to keep it positioned just like the factory has it, plus it would give 2'' more lift, really not sure i need the lift tho. but i may be stepping up to 49's when the 44's wear out, but i sure like the new 43''ssr or sx's whatever they are!

I havent installed longer shackles yet, but I believe that they move the upper hanger to change the angle. You could change or install the shims under the front springs.

When I did the front 52" conversion, I built my own front mounts, along with making longer shackles for the back side of the front springs.

Now, of course, Kert makes both ends available, the B-52 for the front and the Front Shackle Frame Eye Hanger and longer shackles for the back.

Anyway, you'd get a certain amount of pinion angle change from either end, so in the end you gotta break out the angle finder and shim the axle for your particular setup.

My homemade version of the B52: Note that I woulda bought Kert's if he'd made them then... guess I was ahead of the curve :haha:
