mostly used for stationary power plant use like BIG gen sets from the few i have seen . saw 2 at a local few hr away deutz only junk yard in pa years ago and he said he got them from a old trash transfer station in a bigger city from power gen set units . i think his were newer and a turbo but they looked the same .

And sewing machines. Don't forget that.

Funny thing is I have a nearly identical sewing machine like his on my mantle..a 100+ year old Singer..
Kind of a waste to have a V12 diesel and only power a sewing machine with it..:screwy:..
I've seen other Deutz diesels that are air cooled,if this one is,I bet you could use it to heat a house..

Why is it nearly every YouTube video has a barking dog in it,or a screaming child ?...

I still like this V12 diesel best...cant beat the sound of a screaming Detroit !..

It says on it air cooled...
Sorry, forgot it was in French :pimp:

I've worked on plenty of those air
cooled deutz's ...
They are pretty much all the same... 4-12 cylinders...
They use the same exact Bosch injection pump as they do on OM636 Mercedes diesels in Thermo King reefer units. Although I have never seen a 12 cylinder pump in person...that one sure has a lot of injection lines on it !!

I have seen only a few inline 5 cylinder ones (air cooled)..
Guy I met had one on a home made sawmill..seen a few others at tractor shows..pretty cool engines, having replaceable cylinder jugs like a VW ..
I think I read they all use the same pistons, jugs, and rods, they just made longer blocks and added more cylinders on the air cooled versions for uses requiring more power..
