I have a 2004 v6 Holden Lunina Vz automatic it's releasing sparks the same as if a grinder is used and sparks when used on metal. Its sparking only as fare as I can tell its only when im trying to ignite the engine it then sparking or arcing on the passanger side of the engine around near the excuse manafold under a tin bracket protection plate for something that's needing protection from heat I'm guessing. But it's not sparking or arcing every time it's started but on top of that I'm also having trouble starting the engine after it's been driven and seems to be getting worse as time goes past longer and longer it's not fixed but not sure what is the problem?

Sounds like you may have an exposed wire

The best thing to do is unhook the positive terminal from the battery, then go look for the bare wire

Ok i will do that during the day tomorrow if tried to look tonight but it's got a tin protection cover over where it's arcing or sparking from so until I take off the protection cover off I can't really see what's is exactly sparking or arcing but I do know it's only when I start the engine and sometimes it can release a smell from under the hood somewhere around coming from the engine somewhere but i can't tell what or where it is coming from?
Grrrr. Its really snapping my brain trying to get on top of the source of the problem to know what has to be addressed before it becomes a serious problem that may become to fare gone to fix if left much longer.

Ps I'll get back to you to let you know how I go and if I find an exposed wire or what exactly I do find underneath the tin heat protector covering the exurse manafold that connects to the engine and its between the manafold and the first mufflers that is near the extractors witch is on the left side of the transmission.

Could be your starter or the wiring going to it by the sounds of it

Sometimes those heat shields vibrate and rub opening those wires up

Your best bet is to look from under the car. If you can jack it up and support the car. Don't for get to set the parking brake, even chock the rear wheels.
The main battery cable nut, at the cranking motor, may be lose allowing the cable to short sometimes, and not others. It sure does sound like some unwanted arc welding is happening.
