I booked off Aug 31 - Sept 16 for Moab next year :D I'm going to book a house with a garage to stay in next week...

Who else is already excited to go and has time booked off?:haha:

I want to go so bad. Where are you booking? What sites or companies?

Does anyone do a group buy in for a house? I'm only one person, maybe two, and MAN that would make it easy.

Yikes, did some price checking on condos, and they are insanely expensive! $200 a night is a wee bit excessive. Me thinks I am gonna pull down my truck on a bumper pull with a slip camper this go around. The goose is sure a nice trailer, but is way bigger than I need and costs me a ton of fuel economy.

We have the dates blocked out Russ.

Been thinking about doing a house, wanna go in on one?

We may stay up by Kert this year not sure. There is usually spots available most places that time of year

They have a house or large cabin of sorts in the campground. Moab Rim Campark. We almost always stay in that campground.

If I'm coming from Los Angeles, which would be better? 3-4 people
Dmax pulling trailer w/blazer...then staying at a $109/night cabin???
OR
Freightliner 40' RV pulling trailer w/ blazer and staying in a $34/night campsite??

What do you think?

Shouldn't the title of this thread be "Vacation is booked eh!"? :haha:

I enjoy hanging out with the group that camps at the Slickrock Campgrounds. It tends to be the most popular place to camp for Blazer Bash, even though it's not a very nice place.

On the bright side, I've never seen them complain about people working on their rigs at the campsite. Last year I cut off my broken inner C, ground it down and put the replacement on while parked in the camping spot next to mine. Someone from the office even hand delivered my part when it arrived and asked me how everything was going. :waytogo:

D-max is going to get 10-11 MPG. Freight liner 8? 6? I don't know but that should allow you to do the math.

I like hotels with my family and the total bachlor thing if they don't come. The showers and private room make the family happier so therefore I'm happier with hotels. If i'm alone the booze makes me happier so it all works out.

I'm debating on going this year. How far is parking from the cabins? And do you usually leave the tow vehicles parked at the campground and drive to the trails?

Depending on which cabin, the parking can be less than 6 feet away. :)

From my unscientific observation, about half tow to the trail and half leave the trailer at camp. Probably depends on how street legal each rig is.

The Moab 5.0 didn't seem too concerned about hardcore offroad rigs driving around in town. I left my truck and trailer in the lot beside the big hotel right after you cross the Colorado River and enter town.

Oh dang :haha: thought it woulda been sooner. Well a buddy and I are already looking for a cabin.
I don't know. I suppose I could set up sooner. The only thing I don't have nailed down yet is tshirt design. I figure if people are going to buy a shirt when they register, they will want to know what it's going to look like.

Have you not seen the trucks that go? I seriously doubt that anyone would not buy a shirt because it was ugly.:D

No offense anyone.

Did you see last years shirt? They don't get much uglier than that :haha:
