I,m using a MSD street fire dizzy in my newly built 454,it has an adjustable vaccum advance. Where should the advance be adjusted to? This is a 73 454 pretty much stock.

Basically whatever gets you the best mileage without pinging, if you are running ported vacuum. It's a bit more complicated than that, since max advance possible does not equal most power or most economy.
There are all sorts of pages out there that deal with tuning vacuum advance. It's an emissions/economy thing Has no role in startup, and very little in acceleration.
If it's connected to manifold vacuum, it will affect idle.
