Vacuum Advance on 86K5? Where is it?

The vac advance is right on the distributor...look for the vacuum line. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I saw it on other trucks... It has a canaster sticking out of the passenger side, right? Mine doesn't have that.

Is your engine carburated or throttle body injection?

It's carbed.

Do you know if this is the original distributor? A carburated engine should have a round diaphram housing on the side of the distributor. A throttle body engine doesn't have a vacuum advance. I'm unfamiliar with what was standard in '86.

Hey wait, is yours an 86?
It could be that Stupid ESC, electronic spark control, if so you have to short 2 pins on the computer harness under your dash and then time it.

CA truck it's probably full CCC...no mechanical OR vacuum advance if so.
Yep, I have an 85K5 with the wonderfull cali. smog equip. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif You have a CCC and the ESC distributer.
