when i step on the brake, the idle goes up about 100 rpm, but then back down to normall after a few seconds, would this indicate a bad booster? i only noticed it a few weeks ago.

Possibly, the booster leaking can be spiking the idle speed slightly. Pull the booster line off the manifold and hook a vacuum pump up to it. It should hold vacuum.
