but really, ive got my th400 swapped in place of 700R4 behind a TBI 350. tranny works great and i love it.

i unhooked the vacuum line for cruise control and A/C controls- and hooked the th400 modulator up to the ported vacuum switch where the A/C and such used to feed off of.

butt winter is here, and i want a heater!

is a ported vacuum switch even appropriate for th400 modulator? or should i just find a new source for the A/C controls?

OpInions?:waytogo:

so since the ported vacuum switch is in the number 8 runner and is intended for the AC and Cruise, where should i pull for full manifold vac for modulator? im not super familiar with what ports do what on my factory TBI intake.

If you have a ported vacuum switch in an intake runner you will NEVER have any vacuum going to anything. Ported vacuum switches go into a WATER passage and when the water temp reaches the opening point of the ported switch then the switch opens and allows vacuum to pass through the switch.

Any vacuum source that is BELOW the throttle blades of the carb/TBI is full manifold vacuum and typically any source ABOVE the throttle blades is ported vacuum.

well that was some much needed info, the thing i saw as ported vac switch must just be an adapter. looked similar anyhow, i wonder if i can pick one up with 2 ports and be done with it.
