Alright guys gone to the searched threads but didn't find my answers. So here's my question.I'm going to swap from vacuum assist to hydroboost. The vacuum assist is on my 86 k10 and the hydroboost is on my 81 k30 donor. Will the hydroboost unit bolt up to my 86 firewall or will I have to modify any?

The hydroboost unit will bolt up, easy. I've heard stories of maybe one has a stud instead of a bolt, but no drilling should be required. Mine was a drop-in.

other stuff that comes to mind, which you may have read already:

The brake pedal is different, or at least the hole for the plunger rod is in a different place. Take the whole pedal (i.e. metal lever) from the donor. (Removing the two or three pedals is easy and then the brake one just slides off.)

You should have O-ring steering hoses on both trucks, but note you'll need to take all the power steering plumbing off the donor as well.

Oh and the master is different, so tote it along too.

Anything else, post up. I switched my '74 C20/30 crewcab vacuum booster to the O-ring style hydroboost and steering box, so I've BTDT.
