Hey all..A few random ones here..First, my K5 has perfect automatic hubs and was curious about changing to manual lock-outs. Reason being that maybe it would free up the front end and tend not to dig when you swing a tight corner(?).Or free up a few horses.
Second one..the truck is not a daily driver, that said Im going to be using a manual VB 700R from BTO. The TV cable I have dealt with on my last three installs and would rather just shift her myself. Have heard alot and read alot of great advice..Thanks for being patient.

auto hubs only engage when u put the truck into 4wd, in 2wd they dis-engage and do the samething as manual hubs. but if u have extra $$ its a good thing to upgrade, OEM auto hubs arent the most reliable things.

Not a ton of extra $$ but Im lookin at a good chunk for the trans and diffs so whats a little extra. Thanks for an answer.. --- J

Auto hubs should be unlocked when not in 4WD just like manual hubs would, so as long as the current (auto) hubs are working right there will be no difference in power or mileage.

For $80 though, manual hubs are a good upgrade.

That seems to be the answer then. Got a great deal on warn premiums if i want em. Poor guy is out of work and needs to get rid of some things he isnt going to use for awhile..Kinda jumpin ahead on my list but they will be there when i need em.
