The valve covers on my old 84 305 engine were positioned with the oil filler on the front passengers side, the air breather on the rear passenger side and the PCV valve on the front drivers side. We reused the valve covers on the new 350 engine and the guy who installed the engine has the covers on backwards and reversed and swears up and down that's how they were on the old engine. I'd really like to get the covers put back on the right way.

Does anyone have a picture of their 305 engine showing the valve covers on the right way or know of any manual or book that shows the correct orientation? I need some evidence quick because he's about to pull the covers and re-adjst the valve and put the covers back on the same way again. thanks

my 87 305 was like that. i just had to use one of those long funnels to fill it up it might have came out of a car, mine was out of a monte
