I take care of a neighbors place when he is out of town for months at a time. I did an oil change and serpentine belt on his 04 Ford Ranger. Drained the oil and took the filter off. 2.5 quarts of oil total came out. not a filter I recognize. Washed the truck and degreased the engine. Got a 5 gallon bucket of wood chips and mud out of the bed. Took 3 cans of decreaser to clean the engine. Vacuumed the inside. I bet it hasn't been cleaned in at least 15 years. He is 80 years young, looks like filter might be from 2018.

Pffffft. I had one with more than that. Ragged on it for years and it just went. Check engine light always on. Ran decent. Just beat on it and it went, “MORE!”

It’s the engine I pulled the famous, 140,000 mile spark plugs out of that had most of their ground electrodes burned away from.
