Other than LMC does anybody have a source for new vent window kits (the entire window, not parts/pieces)?? They've been on backorder forever at LMC.

I think Precision was going to start producing the complete, assembled vent windows. I am not sure if they are available yet, though. I think they announced them last October, but I could only find individual parts on their site right now.

I had my vent frames powder coated and then shipped to Precision for them to rebuild. They are emaculate, but not cheap. Unsure if they still offer that service.

i have 5-6 sets of pulled out vent windows from 81-up trucks .

they have been sitting here collecting dust . none are perfect but some solid parts windows .

They do still offer the service. I just rebuilt my own using precision parts. It was fairly straight forward.

I had my vent window frames powder coated which made them thicker, I tried to do it myself but just couldn't do it. The guys at precision said they had to very "gently" Dremel out some spots to get everything to fit. It was awkward because I bought all the parts and then had to ship it all back to them. But I have also learned I pretty much suck at glass work.

There's the nuclear route: replace them with a single piece window.

Not cheap at all but it gets rid of the problem forever.
But it does add another problem, it weakens the door. I've seen several people say that they wish they had never done it.

Will precision build vent windows using their own windows, with a core charge, or do you have to ship yours in first? Need to do both of mine, but dont want to have them torn out of the truck unless I had new ones ready to swap in, and then send them my old ones. I’ll give them a call and see what they can do.

Yeah. I need to get in the habit of searching for "cons and problems with 'xyz' mod" more often. I just read a LOT of posts in many forums bashing those One-Piece kits. It's too costly a gamble for me.
