I ran my vents differentials, transfers up high to keep water out. Can you use a one way check valve for such or do they need to be able to pull air in? I also tried to vent th400 but in caused it to push fluid out filler tube.?
Heat makes fluids and gases expand which is why they need to vent, to let the pressure escape someplace. After they cool the pressure needs to equalize to atmospheric pressure. So I’d imagine that if there was a check valve the pressure would equalize through other means, possibly a seal. I’d find another solution if it were me.
There may be a blockage in the vent tube. Try taking the dipstick off the filler tube and gently blow in the vent tube to see if there’s any resistance. Don’t want to blow any debris into the trans.
I buy those filters in bulk from a flea market vendor,he sells tons of them..they are used on a lot of things-Harleys,lawn tractors, old air cooled VW's-- I get them 3 for $5,but I've seen identical filters at Lowe's in the lawn mower parts section for $13.99 !..
I like the bellow. I have run my vents high already. On of those on the end definitely shouldn't have to worry. I did redo my trans with a slightly bigger tube. So far so good. Before it would almost immediately push out the filler.
