I get a very loud popping noise when twisting up my K10. The sound will happen when either front wheel goes up on rocks, hill, etc, it sounds like it comes from just behind the seat. I just replaced the cab mounts so I think it is those. They are torqued to spec and seem tight. Are polyurethane mounts supposed to do this? Could it be anything else?

Could be that you have a body panel flexing to the point of popping.... That or does your bed rub the cab?

T-case or Tranny mounts maybe?? Or maybe the front shaft bottoming out?? I dunno, just some thoughts.

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!!

My truck always popped when on a bind. Blazers are one big body on that frame. A pickup can flex between the cab and the bed. No good on a Blazer. Not that that is a bad thing.

Almost crapped my pants the first time. I had just fitted the bodylift and was twisting in a ditch cheking if the new 33 12,5 woul rub the fenders. POP!! right above my head. The roof sucks inn and out like the belly of a wale! It's pretty cool actually.

Could be that is what you heard to.

I will tell you that mine pops, creaks, sweaks and bangs when wheeling. I always get out to look but can never find the problem. I believe that none are related to each other, just the K5 way. But I bet the first time I don't get out to check the noise, it will be the one I should of. Sometimes I will have someone new in my truck and they will say "what the heck was that? It is embarassing sometimes! But the first time they see the way my truck can take hills they get over it.

Thanks,

I've checked all the areas mentioned. Can't see anything loose. It never popped before I swithced to urethane mounts but my old ones were so bad the cab would knock everytime you went over a bump.

I've got a cotter pin on the drag link that will pop against the axlehousing on occasion when turning - It'll make you jump out of your seat when it does it.

It's probably the roof popping in and out just as was previously mentioned. Mine does it all the time when it gets flexy. I can even time it, I just look up and watch the roof panel (I took out my headliner a long time ago) pop down and then back up! It seems to do it worse when the hard top is off (less rigidity)...but so far it is no big deal, just sounds funny! I get people looking over all the time, but I just laugh it off...

Mine used to pop, may still, but I have probably gotten used to it. Mine comes from under the truck, near the drivers sided front suspension. May be the shocks...I took one of the double shocks off, and haven't heard it in a while. I had RS9000s, and they rubbed each other a little bit.
